Racing

The SWSC Sailing Season runs throughout the year from January to December. Anyone wishing to sail (racing or cruising) must present the OOD with their buoyancy test card prior to going on the water.

Race start times

Saturday 1st Race 14:30 hrs; 2nd Race 16:15 hrs
Sunday 1st Race 13:00 hrs; 2nd Race 14:00 hrs; 3rd Race 15:30hrs
(no 3rd race for ‘Warm up’ or ‘Frostbite Series’)
Wednesday One Race 19:00hrs (19:30 in May, June and July)
Major Trophy Days (see Major Trophy Day list for times)
Mondays on Bank Holiday weekends 13:00 hrs start.

On Sunday mornings and Thursday evenings [from May to September only] these times may be used for boat tuning, family sailing etc., provided the rescue boat is manned by two competent people.

The OOD/Team Leader is responsible for notifying the other duty team members of their duty dates. Anyone exchanging duties must find his/her own substitute and update the master duty list on the club notice board or inform the Sailing or Vice-Sailing Captain of the change. The duty lists are posted on the website, in Telltales and are also posted on the club notice board. The Team Leader/OOD must be prepared to man the rescue boat if necessary.
