Enterprise Open 2012
Sunday 27th May – in glorious sunshine and with a fair bit of wind from time to time, SWSC hosted the second Open of the season, this time for the Enterprise. Twelve boats turned out to race and overall winners were Alan Johnson and Paula Foster from SCYC and Southport. In second place was Mark Lunn and Steve Blackburn from WLYC and in third was James Morley and Rachel Burtitt from Ulley. Mike Goodwin and Matt Bancroft fought hard and were the first SWSC boat home. Supernova Open 2012
SWSC hosted its first first Supernova Open on 15th April 2012. Of the 14 boats racing, 11 were visitors to the club. Paul Earnshaw of Haversham SC was the overall winner with Steve Yates, SWSC Commodore, the highest placed Scammonden boat and 5th overall.

Southport 24 hour race 2011
SWSC entered 2 boats in this year’s 24 hour race on 10th/11th September 2011.
The A team managed to hold their own and finish a creditable 26th out of the 67 finishers having completed 75 laps at an average 19.23 minutes per lap.
The B team, equipped with their very sensible storm sails for the 24 hours, finished in 60th place, completing 57 laps at an average 25.10 minutes per lap. Both boats managed to keep upright throughout the 24 hours through a varied selection of winds. See the photos.
